We’ve moved to a new website! Please visit our new online market to place an order

Here are some frequently asked questions:

And here are some answers:

Are there membership fees?

To help us provide farm tours, educational programs, and to help us with a majority of overhead costs, we ask you to pay a market membership fee so we can continue to keep our farmer’s take home percentage at 95%.

You are welcome to try our market free for two orders before officially becoming members and paying membership fees.

We want consumers of all income levels and lifestyle types to be able to support local farms. We offer 3 different membership fee options which our staff will confirm with you once you pickup your 3rd market order with us.

Weekly membership – paid per weekly order placed – $2.50

Monthly membership – paid on the first order placed that month – $7.50

Yearly membership – paid on the first order requested by member – $60

We understand that many of our members travel a lot, either for work or pleasure, or simply may not have the need or desire to place an order every week. We geared our membership fee options accordingly to fit our member’s needs as best as possible.

Will I have to buy vegetables I don't want?

Unlike some co-ops, buying clubs, or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of stuff (and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it), with Locally Grown you get to order what you want, in the quantities you want, from the farms you want, from a market operating on a weekly basis. Our weekly market email reminds you when the market has opened, links the products available that week, and highlights various seasonal and new products offered. You can browse the items on our website before you place your order.

How do I order?

Each Friday at noon, the market will open for members to place their orders. Customers must place their order for the week no later than Monday at noon. Orders can be placed here on our website. Ordering through this website is our preferred method as it is designed to reduce the amount of time it takes us and our farmers to process orders as well as provide you with detailed information about our products.

Due to COVID-19, we are temporarily suspending in person market pickups and will only be offering order delivery which is an added $10 convenience fee. We know that under normal circumstances, not everyone would chose the convenience of our delivery option. During this time, we will be waiving our membership fees temporarily (see tab for more details). These fees help us pay for our nonprofit operating costs since farmers keep 95% of their list price for their products.

When do I pay?

We accept cash, checks or in person card payments when you pick up your order (temporarily adjusted due to COVID-19. please read below). Because we may have to adjust your total upon pickup (to account for unannounced items you decide to purchase or items that were unexpectedly unavailable), we do not accept advance payment on the website.

During our operational adjustments due to COVID-19 we will only be accepting card payments when your order is placed. If your order is adjusted upon delivery you will either be given an account credit or refund for the amount your order varied in relation to when the order was originally placed.

Post COVID-19, delivery orders will revert back to either check or card payment options.

*Even if you don’t plan on paying regularly with a credit or debit card, all market members must have an active card payment option on file. Please reach out to our Market Director if you have any questions or concerns in regards to this requirement.

When and Where do I pick up my order?

Every Thursday from 4pm to 6pm, customers can pick-up their orders at our partnering Boulder location (to be announced when we resume market pickups post COVID-19).

Currently market orders will be delivered Thursdays most within the timeframe of 11am-5pm. If we see a drastic increase in the quantity of orders some may need to be delivered on Fridays but that would be announced to all members beforehand if that became an operational necessity for us.

You will receive a text alert within moments of your order being placed at your door with a twice confirmed invoice that all of the items you have paid for are included with your order. For the safety of our delivery staff we will not be directly placing orders into members hands.

Why Support Locally Grown?

Enhance your local economy: By purchasing produce and other items from local growers you are providing stability to your local economy through the support of local businesses.

Save natural resources: Buying locally makes you an invaluable link in the process of saving resources such as fossil fuels and packaging materials. Also, we are right here in your community so the expense of transportation and delivery is kept to a minimum.

Provide learning opportunities: Locally Grown supporters provide member growers the means to help educate our community about the importance of sustainable agriculture.

Supporting a way of life: The number of small farms in the United States has decreased dramatically in the last decade. Please help us preserve an honest and worthy means of making a living.

We believe that small, diverse, family-owned farms contribute to society’s overall health.

How can I sell through this market?

If you’ve already created a customer account here, simply go to Our Growers to begin the process of becoming one of our producers. This will add you to our system and our market managers will contact you with the next step. We charge 5% of your overall sales as well as a one-time-only fee of $15 (which we can deduct from your first week of market sales) to help cover the administrative costs of applications and getting vendors set-up within the online market. Like at a traditional farmers’ market, you do get to set your own prices and list your items as you wish. Please be aware that the growers are responsible for paying all sales taxes and for having all appropriate licenses for selling their products. Contact Kristy at bouldercountylocallygrown@gmail.com for more information.
